A series of hypothetical thermal interfaces using temperature to communicate metaphorically. It was my open ended thesis project from 2008 and thus had open ended results...go figure.

A cellular phone that translates stress levels of the user into metaphoric thermal cues.

A Camera/Phone that captures thermal data and translates it into a tangible form for the recipient of the photo.

A set of AR glasses which project "visual air conditioning". The idea is that the visual stimuli may override reality and self evaluations of comfort.

A Workshop by YES at the Contemporary Arts Center. Participants had their photo taken in the face-book set, the image was immediately uploaded to a shared folder, the photo was then color corrected, re-sized, saved for web on another computer, and then uploaded to Facebook by the user. All completed within a 3 minute time period. The final outcome was an online 'album' of every one's 'Face Book Profile Picture'.

Internally, relatives that share the common experience of appearance use it as a bonding mechanism. The metaphor of blood can be thought of as a primary metaphor for this same reason. Long before we knew of DNA structures we knew that blood was shared.
